Ben,

You didn't ask about other Tenn-Tom information, but don't head 
upriver from Mobile without Fred Myers' book, "The Tenn-Tom 
Nitty-Gritty Cruise Guide."  It is simply and delightfully written 
wealth of very valuable information that will enhance your enjoyment 
of the Waterway.  The latest edition (and probably the last) is the 
sixth.  Don't leave salt water without it!

Get his Tennessee River cruise guide also, and if you plan to go up 
the Cumberland, you will want his Cumberland River cruise 
guide.  Excellent books!
