Good Morning Marty,

We did the Black Warrior River this past November and had a great time, it's
truly a wonderful trip!! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has waterway
charts on the BWR, the charts are entitled "Upper Black Warrior-Tombigbee
Waterway". The charts can be purchased out of the Mobile, AL USAC office, let me
know if you need the address. Our trip is documented on our blog site (address
below) including photos, click on the November 2006 link. If you need any
information on anchorages or have other questions please let me know. Based
on our experience with the tow boats on the rivers we found it very important
to ask the tow "How would you like for us to come around you?" The tow then
told us what he wanted us to do. If you have questions about the 1 vs 2
whistle just ask the tow and they will be more than happy to explain. Because
the rivers are so narrow in most areas it's very important to let the tow tell
you what they need, not what you will be doing. Enjoy your trip and stay
safe.
