GL: Ethanol in fuel.

The answer to "Who has created this nightmare ? " is simple, we have.
We got a wakeup call in the 70s that we needed to do something about our
energy cosumption.
Instead of heeding the warning, we all ran out and bought 3/4 ton trucks to
drive to the grocery store.
My own model boat came standard with a 4 cylinder engine, 20-30 years ago.
Now its standard with a small V8 , with a larger V8 as an option.
In my neck of the woods, ethanol and gasoline have been around since the 80s.
Texaco used to have the corn shaped covers on their gas pumps. Most boats fuel
systems should have already been converted.
I don't understand why this is suddenly a concern ?

I have asked at many fuel stops and no one could tell me if
ethynol was present. The only additive they could advise is
valve tech. If I where to go after someone any ideas who
has created this nightmare. Capt. Mimi Longboat Key, FL
