Last weekend, I bought what is probably the same battery as the one described
by Wesley.
A sealed battery that was designed for wheelchairs.
I got mine from a "Battery Source" store and paid about $69.00
It is small and lightweight in comparsion to a deep cycle battery.
In fact I got a "small" battery box, designed for it.
I haven't put it to the test, yet, but what little I have used it, I think it
will probably last
at least 3 hours, which is what I am looking for.
The clerk recommended an automatic trickle charge charger for it.
So to recharge it aboard the boat I will plug the charger into the inverter,
which is converting
DC to AC, go to the charger which will convert the AC to DC and charge the
battery. Al this just to get the proper low amperage charge.

I am using a sealed agm 35 amp hour deep cycle battery made for powering a
wheel chair. The intended use, electrically speaking, is very similar
without the marine price tag. Most battery supply houses will have similar
batteries available.
