A few weeks ago there was discussion about anchoring in Milwaukee.
Thanks to Phil Little, who has worked to clarify the new changes to
the harbor, here is the latest:
Milwaukee has made a new 17 acre island park, anchorage and inner
harbor with 20 slips within the harbor, where there used to be an open
anchorage. Phil has gotten confirmation that there are still three
designated anchorages within the main harbor, including the two new
ones within the inner harbor. Keep in mind that the area in front of
the Calatrava designed Milwaukee Art Museum is exposed to harbor
traffic which can make it a little bumpy, and one of the inside
harbors is blocked by a 10 foot bridge. Slips are available for
$1.50/ft overnight, or $3/hour for day use. Here for download is the
"chartlet" edited by Phil that shows the new configuration:

Slips are also available at various marinas in the harbor and the
Milwaukee River. The river also boasts a Riverwalk, with public docks
and waterfront restaurants.
Milwaukee has lots to offer the Looper, don't miss it!
