We are at the end of our journey on the Rideau. It was a wonderful time with
many beautiful places.
One recommendation is the Tay canal. We are too big to go up but we dinghyed
the 6 miles to a very pleasant tourist friendly town. It is easily the best
stop since Ottawa.
We understand from other boaters that there was a front page article in the
local paper about the problems boaters are having on the wall at Ottawa.
Perhaps something will be done about it now. Since wifi is so hard to find
on the Rideau, others still in transit may chime in.
There is a weak Wifi signal at the Blue Line above Kngston Mills lock
We are heading to Clayton to buy some fuel ($3.03/gal - i misreported
previously) at Cape Vincent it is $3.30.
Campbelton on the Trent is US $3.48 or .98 CDN /l
We ave friends from Miami who have an Island int he Navy group and we have
never seen it so we will stop there briefly. Sat night we will be in
Gananoque to see a play at the playhouse and stay overnight.
Sunday its on to Picton and the beginning of the Trent
