Ken,

I went to a chain and wire rope ( steel cable) store that sells to 
commercial accounts.

You will find their prices a small FRACTION of so called "marine" stores.

Make certain that you purchase chain that fits the windless on your boat.

Another thing, if you are getting a substantila size, such as 3/8th, 
consider the weight and how you will handle it.
You will not carry it out the front door and to the boat!!!!!!!!
