GL: dinghies

Here's something to add to Bob Austin's comment about abandoning ship - he
probably had it in mind but just didn't go into it.  Parts of the loop will
be in waters colder than you can survive in for very long.  While a dinghy
certainly doesn't qualify as a fully fledged life raft, it beats the hell
out of being in Great Lakes water for an hour or two waiting for somebody to
come and rescue you.
