What ever you do, don't ever get a 90 dollar inflatable toy dinghie like I
did.
I figgered that we would need it exactly one time, so I grabbed a
silly cheapie one at Westmarine. We wanted to use it to anchor below Fort
Ticonderoga and follow the instructions in one of the guide books and row
ashore.
Upon attempting to get into it, it flooded several times, and each
time I placed a hand on the side to steady myself, it squished down and let
even more water in. It was a true comedy of errors. The story appears here:

If you get one at all, get a real one! I think
Westmarine has some Zodiacs that start around 900 bucks. Those are fine to
start, and are a minumum requirement.
