David the advantage of Furuno is that you have choice of C map and Navionics.

I have favored Furuno in the past--definately make very good Radar and bottom
machines.  Also reliability of Furuno is excellent.

In the past Raymarine had some reliability issues, but those seem to be well
in hand.  Recently I had the privlege of seeing a boat with two of the 12" E
series screens and all of the bells and whistles, with Platinum Navionics,
Sirius Weather, and I was really impressed with the displays.  There is a real
commitment from Ray Marine.  Also consider the NMEA 2000 compatablity.  I
syspect we will see AIS units this next year.
