Ron,

Very interesting post.  My sales receipt and my owners manual both  
say that I bought a Raytheon RADAR in 2001.  I was unaware that the  
company had been sole and that the new company name is Raymarine of  
England.  Yes, our unit is quite good.

So what is so bad about English manufacturers?  We like Gill marine  
foul weather gear, for obvious reasons!
