Ron,
Perhaps it would help if you would explain what you mean by the Erie
- Rideau trip. There are a couple of possibilities.
(1) Up the Hudson River to the Erie Canal to the Oswego Canal to Lake
Ontrario and then Up the Rideau to Ottawa and then Down the St.
Lawrence to Lake Ontario and back to the Erie Canal.
(2) Up the Hudson River to the Champlain Canal and North into Lake
Champlain, North up the Chambray Canal to the St. Lawrence to
Montreal and then West to Ottawa and Down the Rideau Canal to Lake
Ontario and then South down the Oswego Canal to the Erie Canal and
East to the Hudson River.
Both are excellent cruises. And are frequently called the Mini-Loop!
