GL: Other canals from Lake Okeechobee

I know that the accepted route across Florida uses the St Lucie canal from
Lake Okeechobee to Stuart, but I9m intrigued by the Florida map which shows
three additional canals out of the Lake. The Hillsboro canal appears to head
for Boca Raton, the North New River Canal to Hollywood, and the Miami canal
to Miami. Does anyone know whether these canals are passable, particularly
for a boat which needs only 9 ft of clearance and 2 ft of water depth.
