GL: Venice still giving citations as of last week

This is a cut and paste from a friends email to me that I just received
today(02/28/2007). He would have been in Venice last week.

"Venice was my next stop where I spent five nights at The Crow's Nest,
some in heavy rain and wind.  I spent my days there biking around the
island, visiting with friends on Manasota Key, and getting a $65 citation
for bringing to Florida an un-registered boat!."

 His boat is documented and its homeport is a state that does not required
registration of documented boats. I will sure avoid Venice until I hear this
has stopped.
