GL: Canadian summer holidays

I believe that the construction industry in Quebec takes a mass holiday for
two weeks in July. This is not a statutory holiday, but written into the
blanket union contract governing all construction workers in the province. A
mighty display of union power!
 
In any event we encountered dozens of Quebec boats in the Trent-Severn
Waterway a few years ago during that time. Not a great problem to deal with
and they were very friendly.
