GL: Loop Timing

I will be travelling from Maryland counterclockwise around the loop  
to Pensacola this year. We will leave Deale, MD in the first week of  
May.

I need to stop for a while in Syracuse, NY.

Skipper Bob, in the publication The Great Circle Route, strongly  
recommends reaching Trenton by July 1, to avoid the "rush of  
Canadians on holiday."

We're going to have tough time meeting that schedule.

We might be close if we skip the eastern end of Lake Ontario and a  
little of the St. Lawrence.

Any advice?
