GL: Bridge Clearance Height

I believe the western half of Erie Canal has
fixed bridges with clearance of 15.5 feet.
That is the lowest air draft that I know of.

What is the max boat height that can be successfully used to make the
complete Great Loop trip?
If anyone knows, I am interested in knowing the options for using the
Erie Canal and for continuing up the Hudson River to the St Lawrence
Seaway.
