Tipping is part of the American way. If service is provided professionally
then the person providing it should receive an appropriate tip. I have always
tipped a dockmaster and/or assistant and the amount depends upon service
provided, length of stay, etc. If I'm pulling in for lunch then it may be a 5
or a 10. If I'm doing an overnight it may be 10 - 20. If my stay is longer
such as a week it may be a 50 and so on. I have always found it to be
appreciated and something that is remembered upon my return. It can be an
expensive proposition on a longer trip but those folks providing the service
are part of the overall experience and let's face it - boating isn't a cheap
hobby!

Happy Cruising!
