GL: Florida insurance

I left USAA for boat insurance after 10 years because they're obviously
geared to smaller or trailerable boats and don't understand the bigger
boat market. They don't write their own boat insurance, and the
representatives don't seem to have much experience with any boat. To top
it off, their rates were higher than others, and their coverage no
better. They won't give discounts for boats out of Florida for the
hurricane season. OTOH, their coverage is "everywhere" - another
indication to me that they aren't very knowledgeable when it comes to
boat insurance.
As a loyal USAA member for over 40 years, I wouldn't recommend them for
boat insurance for anything bigger than perhaps 25 feet with an I/O or
outboard and trailer!
