After Tuition has arrived safely in Vero Beach Florida. We have traveled 4200 miles since leaving Chicago in May. This is as far south as we are going at this point. We will winter in Florida, then take the boat up north, put it in storage, and then return to Chicago to re-enter the workforce for a couple more years.
Although we have been boat owners for over 20 years, we had never left Lake Michigan. The help we received from this group, along with other blogs, guidebooks, the people we met along the way, and of course Skipper Bob has been unbelievable. Not sure we could have done it on our own.
One thing we have learned is that this is the way to live. We intend to return to the East coast to become summer liveaboards for a couple years and then retired snowbirds after that. Who knows, maybe some day we will complete the loop.
The Florida user tax has been a concern to us. We found on the Cruiser's Net website the forms that are required (in pdf format) to file for the sojourners pass. The link follows:

Good luck to everyone out there and if anyone is in Vero over the next four months - please look for us.
