How about Presque Isle, on Michigan's east shore, directly across from  
Meldrum Bay, in Canada.
 
Presque Isle has an outstanding anchorage, one of the most naturally  
protected harbors in Michigan, as well as a new State Dock, with a wonderful  
restaurant, and TWO lighthouses, one OLD and historic, and one new, and tall,  where 
you can climb up to the top for outstanding photo ops.
 
The fragrance of the Cedar as you take the path to the old lighthouse is  
thick enough to cut with a knife.  Simply a beautiful spot.. and our  favorite 
anchorage in Michigan.
