John,
I still own a business in Clearwater and I commute about every two weeks.
However, since my son runs the day-to-day operation, between a Nextel phone
and a Verizon aircard, I really have little need to travel back and forth. I
have found that most of what I need to do I am able to do in absencia. I find
that I have very little need for a fax. Most documents are emailed to me in
.PDF format or as Word or Excel documents. If I absolutely need to fax, we
are generally able to find a marina office which will fax for us at little or
no cost. For example, the Harbormaster's office in Annapolis will send a fax
for you for a very nominal fee. We have a printer aboard but use it very
little. I have been pretty successful in operating a "paperless office" on
board. I have a 2 GB memory stick that I use to carry my business documents
back and forth to my office. In fact, I think the most use my printer has
gotten is printing airline boarding passes!
