I agree, but for a slightly different reason. We did most of the Loop over a
four year period during my summer academic year vacations. It was a very slow
boat and I had long vacations. BUT - if you are a homeowner, leaving your
house for a year at a time demands a fairly involved procedure. You have to
halt
or forward the mail, make provision for emergencies, get someone to mow the
lawn, prevent pipe freeze up, suspend phone and other services. etc, etc,
etc.

By cruising during good weather, say the best summer months of the year,
leaving your boat and returning to it the next season, you can minimize your
obligations as a homeowner yet enjoy a considerable time on the water. In
fact, if
you are retired, there is no need to do the loop in one year. Take ten.

Disregard the above if you are a liveaboard.
