It's very true that Bob is willing to share his considerable knowledge with 
one and all, however I believe that even he would be the first to 
acknowledge that his deepest knowledge is primarily with Ford/Lehman 
engines, where he spent much of his career.  On those engines, I doubt there 
is anyone who knows more, or who are as willing to freely part with the 
information. Of course, his general basis of diesel knowledge is also great 
as well.

However, for the paltry $25 to join Boat Diesel, you can also have 
information from other folks who have "cut their teeth" on various diesel 
engine types (Yanmar, Perkins, Onan, Detroit, etc.) and also have the 
practical experience as well as knowledge similar on those products to that 
which Bob has on Lehmans.  A very worthwhile resource.

However, your point is well taken.
