Doc,

Don't know your exact BBQ grill set up but we have our 40# tank mounted on
the fiberglass swim deck in a milk crate. The milk crates that are used to
hold 5 gal. bladder bags for schools & hospitals fit the propane cylinders
perfect! Our BBQ grill is mounted on the back of our trawler on the handrail
leading down to the swim deck, we just purchased an extra long adaptor hose and
hooked it up. After 19 months we have had little rust on the tank. However
we do have a custom canvas cover that fits snuggly over the propane tank &
milk crate. If you do it this way be sure and attach it to the deck very
securly, don't want a following sea to wash it off the deck!
