GL: Rusty Propane Cylinders

 I carry 3 40 lb propane tanks in the cockpit  of my p/h trawler. Two are SS 
and one is steel.( one SS came with the boat and the other I picked up used 
and cheap) For the cost of one SS you can buy a number of steel ones and 
replace it occasionally.
A vented cabinet is best but I just have a canvass cover for mine. They  are 
in the open.
To secure them I installed eye bolts and ran a length of nylon string 
around each tank.
They have been secured in this manner for 22 years.
