GL: Miss Happ Underway

Ahoy All:

   Susie and I left home on the Miss Happ Dec. 1 - all
of 7 miles down to New Bern where we docked to watch
the annual Christmas Flotilla.  Of course we left some
food in the fridge so called Jim Davidson who kindly
went over and picked the stuff up for us.  Then I
realized I had forgotton my eyeglasses (not that I
really need them) so I made another phone call and
neighbor Sean MacMahon brought my glasses down to the
dock.
   After the flotilla we moved over to the New Bern
Yacht Club for the night.
   Today, Dec. 2 we had an uneventful day cruising 53
miles down the Neuse River to Adams Creek and the ICW,
past Morehead City to Spooners Creek just off of Bogue
Sound (mile 210 on the ICW).  A new condo complex has
been built along with a new marina replacing the old
one, now called "The Shores" on Spooners Crk.  Pricey,
but with great water views.  We took a tour but didn't
make a purchase.
   High winds and possible rain in the forcast for
tonight and tomorrow. Final destination: Tavernier
Florida in the Keys.
