B and B,
I carry about a dozen pieces of rubber hose about 1 inch in diameter for
chaffing gear. Make them about 18 --24 inches long. Punch a hole in one end
and attach
a length of nylon string that you wrap around the dock line to hold the gear
in place.
We used this often this yr in the canals of NY and Canada. The lock walls
are often rough on the lines.
I keep one length on the bow that is cut length ways in a spiral to fit over
the anchor rode where it goes over the roller on the bow sprint-----for when
we are waiting for days on weather!!!!!
