Charles and list--
OK so you got away with a violation of the Code of Federal
Regulations once.
The problem is that every Coast Guard District, State Marine Police
and Local Marine Police have in the past made up their own set of
"RULES & LAWS" as they wanted.
The Federal CFR's are quite explicit and should be the rule of the
country, but apparently the old ways continue. What can I say,
except to say that if done properly you will not pass a USCG / USPS
Vessel Safety Check and receive a decal that your boat has passed the
Federal Requirements.
If given a fine and/or citation, don't say that I told you so!!!
Responsible boaters will get a VSC each year and display the decal
indicating same l!!!
