Perhaps things such as Canadian marinas who
will lead you in knowing full well that you will
destroy props, police who ignore vandalism
and theft, and many other factors?

Good morning,

Yes if you can get the vertical down to reach Buffalo, but why?

You'll miss the Rideau and Trent Severn canals, Georgian Bay North Channel
and have to contend with being exposed to the weather on the Great Lakes for
a much larger portion of the trip.  Longer distance also.
