If your air draft is low enough (15.5 feet, according
to NY State Canal folks) you can go all the way across
NY State on the Erie Canal and I don't believe you
would actually have to technically enter Canada.
Not having actually done this (still in wishful thinking
but investigating stage) I can't say with absolute
certainty.
