GL: Three Months into the Great Loop

Hello.
   
  This is our first posting to this forum.  We left Chicago on May 17, 2007 beginning a year long trip on the loop.  We are leaving the Erie Canal today and starting on the Hudson River.
   
  We plan to leave Washington DC on November 1 and take the ICW down to Florida. Does anyone see any problems with taking this southern route so late in the year?  We understand the marinas are still open and gas is available.
