GL: Where to stay in Chicago

Three suggestions, assuming you may want to also visit Chicago at the
same time.  Burnham Harbor or DuSable for slips. Both are within a short
distance of the downtown and lakefront activities.  Monroe Harbor for a
mooring ball.  Monroe Harbor is the center of the downtown lakefront.

Burnham Harbor will frequently put you on the T of the dock as these are
reserved for transients.  If you go to Monroe, do not use your dinghy.
Use the launch service, as an inflatable dinghy will not be safe on
shore.

Burnham Harbor has the Burnham Harbor Yacht Club, Monroe the Chicago
Yacht Club and DuSable is next to the Columbia Yacht Club.
