The 176 C will pick up the new WAAS satellites: #45 and #51 (these are the
numbers you will see on the GPS status screen or the Almanac). The PRN
numbers identify the satellites which the WAAS signal is sent, but is not
shown on most screens (#138 and # 135) People have gotten confused when
looking for the PRN identifier.

We also checked a number of other older GPS recievers, which did not show the
new WAAS satellits initially. One older Lowrance (about 4 years old) didn't
show the number, but after 20 minutes acquired the WAAS signal and its
accuracy increased. If you set some GPS so that WAAS is necessary for a fix,
if it does not recognize the new WAAS signal immediately, it will say "No Fix"
or take a very long time to acquire the fix. If this happens, disable WAAS,
and let the almanac rebuild with the new satellite.
