GL: back in the US

"Slow Dance" a ocean alexander 45 has completed the Canadian portion of the  
great loop.  We entered Canada at Kingston and transited the trent severn  
waterway.  Then on through the Georgian Bay and the North Channel.  We  have now 
cleared customs at Drummond Island, MC.  We want to thank all the  good advise 
we received from members of this list.  We now plan to start  our trek  south 
down lake Michigan.
 
Any advise about route to take down the lake to Chicago ??
