You can make the trip that you describe but ask yourself are really going to
enjoy it? The daylight will be short and while you'll have few weather
related problems on the canals, the season winds on Erie, Ontario, Jersey
Coast and Delaware bay are going to strong resulting in some lumpy passages
or many lay over days. I suggest that if you can't leave sooner you take
the Erie Canal the full length and put off the Ontario/ St Lawrence/
Champlain route for another time. You will save time and reduce your open
water exposure. Once you get to Buffalo weather won't hold you back until
you reach NYC. Then pick your window for the Jersey Coast and Delaware Bays
carefully. BTW Cape May is great place to wait out weather.

> We missed the spring updates on looping through Canada and need advice,
www's, tel. nos. regs., etc about leaving from Cleveland, SEPTEMBER 1
through the Welland Canal , across Lake Ontario, through Thousand Island,
down St. Lawrence to Sorel and then south through Richelieu River-Lake
Champlain-Champlain Canal-Hudson to NYC and then south via ICW to FL
(Norfolk by Nov. 1) Is this too late in the season?
