GL: Air Conditioners

Hi All,

Had one of our air conditioners checked today, and was told that it needed a
new compressor.  The unit is a Marine Air System MTC-X 1989 vintage.  Does
anybody have knowledge of these units?  I will be getting a 2nd opinion, but
in the meantime looking for help.  If I do have to replace the compressor
would it be advisable to replace new compressor only or should I replace the
entire unit, and if that is so any suggestions as to make & model, and best
place to buy. This is one of three units on board and all are 12,000 btu.  The
other two units work great.  Any & all help/suggestions will be much
appreciated.
