GL: Hurricane Insurance - Is there a "Window of Non-Coverage?"

I have read that some yacht insurers will not provide coverage during  
certain specific times of the year, (hurricane season) and within certain  
geographic boundaries.  Is this true?  Is is a universal rule?   Is there any way to 
insure a boat in Florida year-around?
