Anthony,
After trying several types of connections we opted for and have used for a
full yr Verizon air card. It plugs into the laptop and we have had coverage
all the way from Louisiana into the Chesapeake with only a few areas of no
coverage in the boon docks. Never more than a day or so without coverage. We
are in the Chessy now ( hope to splash tomorrow). It is $60 per mo plus the
cost of the card.
We use it home as well as on the boat. Note some areas have faster speeds
than others. We tried Cingular to no avail.
As always YMMV
Caveat: There are now TWO types of aircards one is longer than the other.
The shorter one is the newest version and some new computers have the new
short slot whereas others have the long one and, of course there is no
compatibility!!!!
