GL: Thinking of chartering a loop boat

I'm looking at the possibility of chartering a boat from a private owner for
one year to do our loop trip. For me it would make sense as I would not have
to sell the boat when we're done. For the owner it might make sense if he
wants the boat used and well maintained so things don't go bad just sitting,
save moorage fees, and perhaps other reasons that would make a good fit. I am
very qualified with a lifelong experience in boating, am very mechanical, and
like to keep things pristine so I should be able to overcome any of those
concerns.

My question is if this is done occasionally or just not feasible for some
unforeseen reason.
