On our Great Loop Chart, it shows two routes from Carrabelle, one is to
Steinhatchee (sp)
Is this the route ya'll are calling the rim route ?
About how many miles is this route ?
Any marinas between Carrabelle and Steinhatchee ?

I tend to agree that as long as one watches the weather and stays in
port when the wind blows and the sea is expected to be rough, the tri-
pontoon boat will do OK - just takes a little more homework and
planning. Like doing the rim route versus going straight across
Florida's Big Bend, staying in the small boat channel on the Georgian
Bay, going down the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan with the Michigan
safe harbors of refuge, etc.

I know lots of catamaran sailboats which have done the Loop with
their masts down and had no problem. Is there really a big
difference here?
