Folks, these boaters only have two weeks to "try it out"--and you all are
talking about pontoon boats across the big bend?. In two weeks I would figure
on going down river a few hundred miles max. Poke in some fun coves, stay at
some marinas and have a ball. Those who are in the runabout can beach camp or
even get a hotel. about 50 years ago I did the Gulf Coast ICW from New
Orleans to Brownsville, in segments in a 15 foot open runabout with a 35 hp
outboard--so it isn't the size of the boat--it is the intent and having fun.

As for wakes from large motor yachts vs being caught out in a storm on open
bodies of water--nothing near the same--the duration for one issue--the wake
is a few waves--the open body seems like thousands. The Wake can be
paralleled, For safety you may have to go almost into, or straight down waves
in open water--not at all the same.

Get out there--all of the boats can go, have fun and take in a couple of
Casinos--there are web sites which show these.
