I second all of this and will add that a very competent engineer familiar
with all equipment on board and how to keep it working or how to work around
failures be a part of your crew. He should assess what the condition of
everything is and put spares/tools aboard to cover the most obvious
potential issues as a minimum.
Note that vessels over 20 meters fall into a class of vessel upon which many
more regulations apply. I would imagine your insurance company would have
specific staffing requirements for an outside delivery. Is this a US flagged
vessel?
These issues and lots more need to be well thought through so you are well
prepared for this not insignificant delivery for a new to you but older
vessel.
Can we ask her name and builder? You may find someone on the list that is
familiar with her and can add more information to this discussion to help
you out.
