Dear All,
Thanks for all your good advice so far, I have been reading in the
back round for years as I have planned my adventure.
I would like to give a little more info as to the particulars so your
excellent suggestions are based on fact.
Again I would like to get back home to Lake Michigan from Ft.
Lauderdale as soon as possible this next Spring Weather and safety
first of course.
The Boat
Condition is above average with new paint everywhere for what that
matters.
Length 77'
Beam 18'.6"
Draft 8.6"
Mast height 75'
Weight 50 ton
Hull Steel
Rig Ketch
Cruising speed under power: 10 kts
Yes, it does have a pilothouse w/heat
I've gotten the impression No to the St. Lawrence for sure.
I had not even considered coming up the Tom Bigbee, I just assumed
Spring runoff would be too much.
An ocean run to New York, then a trip up the Hudson, step the mast,
and enjoy the Erie through to Buffalo, mast up and sail home?
Thanks again,
Curt
