Hey Loopers,
   
  Bob's got a good point.  Just to clarify, 3-1/2' is where to draw the line.  If you draw more, go straight across.  If you draw less, enjoy Perry, Cedar Key, and Indian Town.  We draw 6', so we would run aground before we even saw the shore between Government Cut which has a 3 knot current running several times a month, and Clearwater Pass.  There is shoaling between Apalachicola and Government Cut, but never in the pass.  The channel to the cut is marked well and maintained.
