GL: Tenn Tom Storage Question

Interesting how people interput information. Yes, as the crow flies the
Columbus marina is 12 miles to the Golden Triangle airport. However this is
quite misleading, since the distance on the road is 20 miles. I believe that
people who need to get to an airport want to know what the distance is when
they have to take a taxi. It is also helpful to specifically note where that
airport is located.

I double checked this distance on maping and from the Columbus Marina Web
site--where it states 20 miles to the airport in two different places.

ASA is part of SkyWest, and was purchased from Delta as I noted. It remains
part of the "Delta Connection".

I would also dispute Kev's post. Many people do not cross the Big Bend in
groups. Traveling in groups often does not work well because of different
speeds and hull types of the various boats. There can be a false security.
There are multiple routes to go across the Big Bend area--and one has to check
on the local conditions. At times in the past Government Cut has shoaled.
The passes to all of the areas I mentioned in previous posts are open and
marked. Kev would lead you to think that it is not safe to travel the rim
route. I do not believe that to be the case. I have talked recently to boats
who have visted all of the ports I have mentioned and although there are minor
changes, they are not of a nature to risk loss of a boat. I will be
personally running this area the end of this month and can give more accurate
reports at that time. One always has to consult his charts and watch the
depths. But even in areas with direct strikes the depts offshore have changed
little. Some barrier Islands have been re-arranged.

I attempt to post accurate information which will be helpful for those who are
traveling on the "Great Loop".
