GL: Favorite parts of the Loop

We just finished our Loop, and here are some of our favorite areas. In
general terms, we loved Georgian Bay, the North Channel and the Tennessee
River.

Trent-Severn Waterway: beautiful country and the hydraulic locks are amazing
Georgian Bay:
Massasauga Provincial Park - several wonderful anchorages
Parting Channel / Obstacle Island - secondary boat route, may not be
possible in large boat (our boat is 38' long and 4' draft, and we probably
shouldn't have done it!)
	The Bustard Islands
Bad River (bring lots of dinghy gas so you can spend all day playing
in the rapids)

North Channel:
	Killarney
	Covered Portage Cove
	The Benjamin Islands
Spanish - for breakfast at Le Bel Abri B&B

Mackinac Island
Leland, Michigan
Milwaukee, WI (on the weekend, take the boat up the Milwaukee River, getting
all the drawbridges to open for you so that you can dock in the midst of
downtown and have lunch)
Chicago, IL (again, going right through downtown Chicago by boat is
amazing!)
The Tennessee River, we highly recommend the trip up to Chattanooga -
gorgeous country. You can then backtrack to the Tenn-Tom to continue south.

As for what I would miss/skip: none of it! Were some places nicer than
others, sure, but that's what makes the good place so good!

We are in the planning stages for beginning our loop journey this Spring.
We would love to hear your thoughts on places you would love to go back too
along with with those that you wished you had missed. We're hoping this
will help us focus our time on more of the best!

Thanks,

Mike & Cathy
