> --Hi,

I installed a DA4000 Direct Connected Celluar Amplifier made by Digital
Antenna, Inc ( http://www.digitalantenna.com ) along with a Digital Antenna
567CW 8 ft. antenna on my boat. It works great and gives me a connection in
remote areas where no one else can get out. It also allows me to connect to
my ISP on a "dial-up" circuit for internet service in weak areas where a
voice call may go thru but a data call will not. I chose the "hard wired"
type amplifier over the wireless amp because it was rated for longer
coverage and cost cost a lot less than the "wireless" type. You will,
however, also have to buy a cable to connect your phone to the amp. I also
chose the Digital Antenna because it was matched to the amp. Like a previous
post stated the antenna is not grounded. Another advantage to the "Digital
Antanna, inc" antenna is that it comes with a mini connector that will pass
thru a 3/8 inch hole. This allows you to install the antenna without cutting
the cable or installing any connectors.
