GL: boating in Florida

The other day I read somewhere that Michigan has now been surpassed by Florida
in number of boat registrations. Frankly, I was surprised that Michigan was
ever ahead of Florida to begin with. The article went on to say that the
Clearwater-St. Petersburg area was the most densely "populated" area in the
state. Oh Great! That's my home town. I may never bring MORNING STAR back
to Florida. Let's see now....hurricanes, huge numbers of inconsiderate and
uneducated boaters, insane insurance costs, outrageous slip fees, disappearing
marinas & condos, condos, condos VS. tranquil, peaceful anchorages, a
constantly changing view, affordable insurance and marina dockage
rates...HMMMM. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
