Clarification:

The comments/criticisms my email provoked are basically correct.  I certainly
do not advocate full discharge, but s___ happens (and it has on Sans Souci),
and I think AGMs handle that better than lead/acid, and much better than gel.
And of course, I don't recommend installing them upside down, either, that's
absurd.  It's nice to know, however, that there will never be an acid spill or
hydrogen gas explosion.  And they will never run dry.  Of course, I wonder if
"never" is too strong a word.
